The Pre-Employment Credential Program for Australian Secondary Schools
Verified, assessed credentials that give your students something real to show employers — before they graduate.
Your students are capable and motivated. But when they leave school and apply for their first job, apprenticeship, or traineeship, their CV is almost entirely blank.
CertSmart bridges that gap with short, assessed courses that give every student a verified credential they can add to their CV and LinkedIn profile before they walk out the door on their last day.
What your school gets:
✅ Unlimited student access to all 90 courses across 30 career categories
✅ A VET coordinator dashboard to track student completions and assessment results
✅ School-endorsed certificates carrying your school's name alongside CertSmart Pathways
✅ A complete Teacher Resource Pack — lesson plans, career connection guides, and student progress templates
✅ A parent communication template ready to send
Our Pedagogical Approach
CertSmart courses are designed by qualified teacher and training professionals holding the TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment under the Australian Qualifications Framework as well as Post Graduate Degrees in Secondary Education.
Every course is structured around an explicit teaching model — the evidence-based instructional approach endorsed by the Australian Education Research Organisation and the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership.
Each lesson delivers a focused, clearly defined learning intention in approximately 20 minutes, with scaffolded activities and reflection built in to consolidate understanding before progression.
Learning outcomes for every course are published on each course description page, consistent with the critical information requirements of Australia's National Microcredentials Framework (NMF).
Assessment is two-tier — module quizzes with a 70% minimum pass mark, and a short written scenario response requiring students to apply learning to a realistic workplace context. Assessment is designed to verify attainment of learning outcomes, not merely content consumption.
Courses are designed in accordance with the NMF to be complementary to the Australian Curriculum and to support student learning outcomes in careers education, VET, and school-to-work transition programs. A full Assessment Methodology Document is available on request.
