Frequently Asked Questions

What are CertSmart Pathways microcredentials? Our microcredentials are short, practical online courses (3 modules each) designed for young people and job-seekers. They teach job-ready skills like barista basics, admin fundamentals, or personal training — helping you add tangible, verified achievements to your CV.

Are the courses accredited or recognised by any official body? CertSmart microcredentials are designed in accordance with  the quality standards of Australia’s National Microcredentials Framework (NMF), with clear learning outcomes, practical assessment (70% quiz pass per module), minimum 1-hour volume of learning, and verifiable digital badges issued through Setifier (part of the global Open Badges network).

This means they are portable, transparent, and recognised by employers worldwide as evidence of self-directed learning and skill-building. They are an additional, practical pathway — not a replacement for formal AQF or VET qualifications — but a strong signal of motivation and readiness for entry-level work.

How long do the courses take to complete? Most can be finished in a few days to a week (self-paced). Each has 3 modules with 3 x 20-minute lessons per module, quizzes, and a final certificate upon passing. You have lifetime access once enrolled.

What do I get when I complete a course? You'll receive:

A personalised completion certificate recognised under the Australian National Micro-credential Framework (NMF)

A verified digital badge issued via Sertifier — instantly shareable on LinkedIn, your resume, or email signature.

Guidance on how to include it in your CV for maximum impact.

How are the courses assessed?  Completion is assessed via short end-of-module quizzes (multiple-choice, 70% pass required per module) that confirm understanding of the material followed by a short end of course assessment. Digital badges are issued through Sertifier for global verification, and all courses align with Australia’s National Microcredentials Framework (NMF) for quality and consistency. Our team of dedicated teachers are all fully qualified high school teachers accredited with Department of Education & Training, holding Bachelor Degrees and Masters Degrees in secondary teaching.
