CertSmart Pathways was built to close a gap that too many young Australians fall through — and one I know personally.

I struggled in high school. Not because I was not capable, but because nobody ever showed me what was on the other side of it. I had no clear direction, no map, and no credentials to show anyone that I had tried to figure it out. I left school not knowing what I wanted to do — and I spent years finding my way.

That experience never left me.

I am Christian Marchegiani, Founder and CEO of CertSmart Pathways. I have spent the last decade teaching in Australian high schools, watching the same uncertainty I once felt play out in student after student — motivated, capable young people with nothing practical on their CV and no clear next step.

Before teaching, I spent years in health and fitness education, building and accrediting vocational training programmes across Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Taiwan, and Italy. That work gave me a deep understanding of what makes a credential genuinely valuable to employers — not just on paper, but in practice.

CertSmart brings both of those worlds together. Every course is built on a rigorous curriculum framework, quality-reviewed to vocational training standards, and developed using the best research and content tools available. Every workbook is written to the standard of a real qualification. Every badge is issued through Sertifier and aligned to Australia's National Microcredentials Framework — verifiable by any employer in seconds.

In March 2026, CertSmart Pathways engaged directly with the Australian Government Department of Education's Microcredentials Pilot team. In response, the Department acknowledged "the work that CertSmart Pathways is doing to support young Australians." We continue to design all courses in accordance with Australia's National Microcredentials Framework and issue verified digital badges through Sertifier for transparency and global portability.
